Before It’s Too Late

Adjusting jump technique isn’t about changing how to jump—it’s about optimizing movements to prevent future technical issues and injuries.

Repetition builds habits. The key is establishing effective habits before they become too difficult or impossible to change.

The Importance of Video Analysis for Jump Technique

Skaters should regularly review their double jump videos to identify areas for improvement. Enhancing efficiency at this stage makes learning triple jumps smoother and helps prevent injuries.

When we overlook technical details and focus only on results—thinking, “Oh, I landed the jump, so I’m fine”—we risk stagnation. Is there room for progress? Could this technique lead to injury now or in the future?

Whether basic or advanced, video analysis is essential for optimizing movement and reducing injury risks. However, a coach must have proper training in video analysis to make meaningful corrections. Without these skills, video reviews become little more than vague instructions like “move this” or “adjust that”—which are ineffective.

At our academy, we provide comprehensive training that every coach should take to maximize the benefits of video analysis.
